Understanding Extended Trading Hours
In the US stock exchanges, you can trade outside of regular hours, which includes:
– **Pre-market**, which lasts for 5.5 hours before the regular session starts. The periods are as follows:
– 16:00 WIB – 21:30 WIB outside of Daylight Saving Time
– 15:00 WIB – 20:30 WIB during Daylight Saving Time
– **After-hours**, which lasts for 4 hours after the regular session ends. The periods are as follows:
– 04:00 WIB – 08:00 WIB outside of Daylight Saving Time
– 03:00 WIB – 07:00 WIB during Daylight Saving Time
During Extended Trading Hours, you can only trade using Limit Orders. This is because of higher volatility, which carries the risk of significant slippage if using market orders.
You can trade during Extended Trading Hours by selecting the Trading Time option when placing a Limit Order.
