Accounting Lead

We are looking for a Accounting Lead to join our team. The Accounting Lead owns the company's full accounting cycle and coordinates tax compliance with external tax consultants. This role is responsible for bookkeeping accuracy, statutory reporting, and ensuring tax obligations are met on time — with hands-on execution of accounting, and hands-on coordination (not execution) of tax filing through an external consultant.
What will you do:
Own the full accounting cycle: general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end/year-end closing.
Prepare accurate, timely financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement) per applicable accounting standards (PSAK/IFRS or relevant standard for company stage).
Manage the relationship with the external tax consultant: provide required data, review consultant deliverables (PPh 21/23/25/29, PPN, e-Faktur, annual SPT) for accuracy, and ensure all statutory deadlines are met.
Reconcile tax filings prepared by the consultant against the company's own accounting records to catch discrepancies before submission.
Maintain internal financial documentation and controls (expense approval flow, reimbursement policy, vendor payment records).
Ensure the accounting system is properly maintained, reconciled, and audit-ready at all times.
Support the team with clean historical financial records during fundraising due diligence, when needed.
What we are looking for:
Minimum 2–3 years in a startup or fast-growing SME, having independently managed the full accounting cycle end-to-end (not just a segment under a large finance team).
Proven experience coordinating with external tax consultants to ensure accurate, on-time filing of PPh, PPN, e-Faktur, and annual SPT; able to independently review and validate consultant deliverables against company books.
Hands-on proficiency in at least one accounting system (Accurate, Jurnal.id, Xero, QuickBooks, or SAP Business One) and advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
Proven ability to meet recurring statutory deadlines (monthly tax filing, year-end closing) without error, even under resource constraints.
High accuracy standard; willingness to undergo background/reference check given handling of company funds and sensitive financial data.
Willing to work hybrid/remote with flexible hours, with clear availability during monthly closing periods and statutory tax filing deadlines.
Nice to have if:
Brevet A & B (Indonesian tax certification) — useful for reviewing consultant work critically, even though execution is outsourced.
Experience preparing books for external audit (even if not a full statutory audit).
Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency bookkeeping, if the company expands cross-border.
